~ "Why do hospitals always smell funny???"

And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him. (Acts 28:8)

Jesus still heals.  He still guides the lost, hears their cries in the middle of the night, comforts them in their hour of need.  When your chest is heavy and the pain seems to be unbearable, He will be by your side to comfort you, to hold you and to love you.

When your child is sick and the doctors cannot figure out what is wrong, helplessness takes a hold of you.  You google their symptoms and seek the advice of your "medical" friends.  You rack your brain trying to figure something out...THEN you turn it over to the Lord.  Why do we do everything backwards???  Instinct causes us to pursue the "logical" and "written" answers as opposed to reaching out to the Great Physician.

Finding your way back to He who created you can often be fraught with false starts and failed attempts (in our own eyes).  We forget that we are human and burden ourselves with wanting to be perfect in His sight.  We distract ourselves with wanting to be "the best" as opposed to just being His.  He wants only for us to come to Him.  We need to bring Him our prayers and our praises, shutting out that which takes away from His purpose and plan for us.  The enemy is always at work, doing everything he can pull our focus off our Father, yet we fight out way through, finally reaching His feet.

There is nothing that has enough power to keep us from truly submitting ourselves to His care.  He waits for us there.  Fight back the beast that wants so desperately to keep us from Him.  Call, cry or scream out to Him - drowned out the voices of apathy that keep you company in your moments of despair.  Call on His amazing grace to see you through!
