~ "Dear Government Official..."

“Among my people are wicked men who lie in wait like men who snare birds and like those who set traps to catch men. Like cages full of birds, their houses are full of deceit; they have become rich and powerful and have grown fat and sleek. Their evil deeds have no limit; they do not plead the case of the fatherless to win it, they do not defend the rights of the poor. (Jer 5:26-28)

There is nothing as sad as government that does not recognize and attempt to fix the problems it has created. Our forefathers definitely did not have this in mind, and our heavenly Father abhors it! Every day we hear and read of the injustices being done in the world, in our own country and in our neighborhoods. We see the lack of love for one another in the media and when we look out of our windows. It disturbs me and embarrasses me both at the same time. We live in a country where criminals have more rights than the victims, where illegal immigrants make more money than natural born citizens, where the rich get richer and the poor live in boxes. Ah, the American dream...

It is comforting to know that our Creator will see to it that the evil deeds of men do not go unnoticed. They do not fear Him - they do not know Him. How sad, how truly sad! We hear the words "your vote may make the difference" and "don't complain if you don't vote". We are asked to write to our political leaders, sign petitions and flood the White House with our opinions. I doubt very much that our beloved President ever sees any of the billions of letters sent in by concerned citizens.

There is one authority that does hear every word spoken, reads every letter, answers every plea and has justice ready to be served on those who fail to follow the rules He has laid before us...that one is God! Stop complaining about the economy, stop complaining about what the leaders of this country do (or fail to do), stop making excuses for the way things are, stop twisting and forming opinions that are based on lies - pray! Use the energy for something positive - your soap box stand will not change anything. God hears your prayers and He responds! He rescues those who fear Him, who love Him, who honor Him! Fight the enemy with silence and hands raised to the Father in praise and thanksgiving! Glorify Him, not the enemy. Give God your full attention, your honest and sincere prayers - things around you may not change, but the way you look at them will! He will show you what is truly important, He will give you all that you NEED (not necessarily all that you want). Walk away from the demons of this world and into the waiting arms of the Father. He's been calling your name for some time now, don't you think its time to put the focus on listening to the real voice of truth???
