~ "They all fall down..."

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. (Is 28:16)

Well, we've seen what can happen to houses built on stilts when a hurricane comes along.  We've seen what happens after many years to buildings built on soft ground.  We've seen what happens when buildings are not maintained properly.  The do not withstand the test of time.

If you are building anything and you want it to last, you need a firm base.  Isaiah speaks of a foundation stone, a corner stone, that will be laid in Zion.  This cornerstone is Jesus.  He is the foundation on whom we build our lives.  Through prayer and communication with our Lord and Savior, we come to know His truths, trust His undying love for us and have faith that He will continue to provide for and protect us.  He changes us from a pile of sticks into a strong and beautiful building which houses His Holy Spirit.  The winds of life cannot uproot us.  We may sway in the breeze, but we do not crumble.  We can stand fast and firm on His promises.

Do not build it on your own idle dreams or successes, for all of that can and will fall away leaving you nothing but rubble.  Build it, instead, on a foundation based in Christ!  A firm foundation! One that will not fall!  One that will withstand the temptation of the enemy and provide security in the days that lie ahead of you.  Don't fret - let go of your "Issaic" and put your faith in God!  His house will not be destroyed!
