~ "They all fall down..."

By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. (Heb 11:30)

If you know the scripture of how this came to be (Joshua 6), then you know that the Lord's hand was most assuredly responsible for the collapse. God showed them that nothing is impossible with Him and that all you need to do is have faith! You may sit and say to yourself after reading that there is no way walls of that magnitude could fall to the ground with just seven days of marching around it, the blast of a trumpet and the shouts of the people. You may think that the walls were probably a puny pile of stones or that it had some serious construction flaws. Those walls, were in fact, 25 feet high and 29 feet thick in some places. In this act, God surely showed His power! It was their faith in God's promise that brought down the walls.

So often we are faced with "impossible" situations. We examine them, try to find a logical solution, try to fix them ourselves (when there is no possible way to do so) - then we exclaim "it is hopeless". For God, there is nothing that is impossible, there is nothing that is hopeless and there is nothing beyond His reach. Sometimes all we need to do is have faith! God does not need our help. Often we are told to "be still" and "know". Having faith means not only to believe that God can and will do what is necessary, but it also means stepping back and allowing Him to do it! Great faith comes from great trials. It is only through continued reliance on Him that we develop the faith of those who marched around Jericho. It is only through continued devotion to Him that we develop the faith of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. It is only through continued prayer that we develop the faith of Esther. It is only through faith in Jesus' death and resurrection that we shall see God! Faith in one means faith in all. All that God has promised will be realized. He does not go back on His promises to His people. If you are a child of God, then you are guaranteed by faith, through grace the rewards of His Kingdom.

So, step aside, march around your "walls" and allow God to topple them to the ground!
