Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. (Deut 31:6)
"Jesus commands my destiny" -- This hymn, "In Christ Alone", is so beautiful. The words to it reach into your soul and remind you just what you are doing here and why.
Satan loves his joys, but he will meet with defeat. He cannot win - he will not win. When God closes a door, He does indeed open a window! There is nothing on this earth that the power of God cannot overturn. His strength is not imaginable and His love is indescribable. So much so that He, Himself, came here to attest to the fact the God is love, that God does care, that God does know and that God understands.
These past two weeks we have walked through each one of the laws He gave to Moses. There is no question as to what God has commanded from us. There is also no doubt that we humans cannot measure up. Nothing we ever do will be good enough to enter the gates of heaven. We could never hope to keep even one of these. If you're sitting there shaking your head saying "you're wrong" - think again! I'm sure you can find one instance in your life that you have broken the Law of God.
God knew this. Thus, He came to earth in human form, Jesus! He died for our failure to obey the law, He died for our inadequacies, He died for our deliverance. It is "in Christ alone" that we can stand before the Father, shielded in His sovereignty and cleansed by His blood. That "cornerstone" is still being rejected through defiance, through immorality, through murder, through hate and through indifference. We have nothing to fear if we walk in the light. Even in the darkness, His light shines to lead us to Him. God made Himself right with all of humanity. He has kept His promises and will continue to keep them. Only when we stand on the solid ground that is Jesus Christ, can we be saved from the raging storms that wash over our pitiful lives. We are not worthy, we do not deserve anything from Him! There is not one of us who can proudly boast that we are the perfect creatures He calls us to be! There are no excuses for anything we do or do not.
God will not fail us, He will not forsake us! In Christ alone, are we made worthy - no one else, no other way. Go to Him now, through Jesus, and ask for forgiveness. Ask for courage and strength to do His work on this earth. Humble yourself before Him and become ALL that He so richly deserves from you! Make a place for Him in your life, make a place for Him in your heart. Your soul belongs to Him, don't sell it to the enemy for anything! The price that was paid for it is greater than anything Satan could give you for it. Put your pride in your back pocket and confess your sins and acknowledge His greatness! Your time is running out. Only in the power of Christ can you stand!!!
