~ "Inspiration 101..."

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16)

All Scripture is inspired by God. It was written to teach us what is true. It is to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. How will we know what we're supposed to know if we don't read it?

God can inspire anyone (I am living proof of this - each morning he inspires me to sit here and write these devotionals)! His purpose? To spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, his son, the one who paid the price for all of our sins! His reasoning? To afford every human being the opportunity to come before him repentant of their sins and submissive to his word.

Those of us who write or preach today (still inspired by God) have an obligation to HIM! He tasks us with reminding those whom he has called to continue to learn and to teach and share his love with others. He also tasks us with reaching out to those "less familiar" with him and those who do not know of him. Being called to witness to the power of the Almighty is sometimes a tough "gig" - especially when your audience is hard nosed and rebellious. There are no "mistakes" in the Bible, and any question you could possibly raise has an answer. He has seen the entire cast of characters, watched it play out from beginning to end and decided it was good! Each of us has been formed with his loving hands, thought of before our parents were ever conceived and given a destiny of hope through Jesus!

So, who do we turn to and where is it we are to go? We go to our knees, at the cross where Jesus died! In him and only in him lies our salvation! Our way should be his way, and the truth of that is written in the Bible! Let his holy words fill your heart and your soul and carry you to eternity. And when you think to yourself "it's not worth it - it's too hard" - remember that Jesus though you were worth it and nothing is too hard when he is by your side!
