~ "Weep not..."

And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. (Luke 7:13)

We all know the story of Lazarus. Jesus performed one of His greatest miracles and gave us a glimpse into the power of God - to save souls and preserve life! Here, too, He shows compassion for the widow whose son had died, leaving her virtually helpless. Jesus brought the young man back to life. This miracle reminds us that Jesus cares for His people, for their needs!

So often we mutter the words "I need a miracle". When the impossible stares us straight in the face, our only hope is the saving grace of God! How many nights have you cried yourself to sleep begging God for mercy? How many times have you prayed that your life would turn around and the circumstances of your existence would melt away into a quiet, ripple-free lake of mercy and peace???

Jesus tells us to "weep not". He has offered us salvation! The world was dead in sin until that moment when He paid the price for all. Dead people can do nothing for themselves. They can't even ask for help! God has compassion on us, and sent Jesus to raise us to life within Him. The dead man did not earn his second chance at life, nor can we earn our new life in Christ! We can accept God's gift of life, praise Him for it and use our life to do his will.

Jesus raises the dead every day!!!
