~ "The journey begins..."

And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink. (Ex 17:1)

Imagine that journey, if you dare! When we travel, we have most of the comforts of home. We check into a hotel/motel, our beds have fresh linens, the bathroom has clean towels and toiletries, there's a telephone, wifi and a television. We can adjust the heat and the air conditioning to our own personal liking, there's a bucket for ice and hot and cold running water. In the upscale hotels, there's a refrigerator stocked with beverages ranging from bottled water to bottled champagne. We can leave a wake-up call at the front desk and our bed is made up when we leave.

The journey the Israelites were on was frustrating, to say the least. They left the comfort of what they knew at the command of God! They spent decades wandering around in the desert (due to their own defiance, of course). Our journey in life often resembles theirs. Our faith often resembles theirs. Our promised reward is guaranteed, as was theirs. We stumble and fall along the way. We miss the road signs and hit detours. We struggle to find our way back on the right path. It is not always "smooth sailing".

Where ever your journey begins, where ever it takes you - you have the comfort and assurance of knowing that when it does end, when you reach your final destination, you will be afforded the time to rest upon arrival. That, too, is guaranteed!!! Our Heavenly Father knows the struggles of this life. He's well aware of the distractions and pitfalls that plague our journey. He wants us to turn to Him for direction - so what are you waiting for???

Make a new start if you must. Begin today - right now! Re-dedicate your life to Him. He will surely bless your commitment. If you are renewed in spirit, your outlook will also be renewed. Lift up praises and prayers to the Father who sees all and knows all. Give to Him in the same manner He has given to you! Thank Him, ask forgiveness and rejoice!!! Today is when your journey begins. The final destination is Heaven. Walk securely in the knowledge that He is with you, guiding and guarding your every step! Let Him lead...
