"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." (1 Peter 5:6-7)
We often worry about our position and status. We hope we'll get proper recognition for what we do. We carry around pain and stressed caused by another's inability to mind their own business. We finally continue to feel good about the direction our lives are going until someone else's misery spills over into our happy world.
Peter advises us to remember that God's recognition counts more than human praise. God is able and willing to bless us according to HIS timing. Carrying our worries, stress and daily struggles shows that we have not trusted God fully with our lives. It takes humility, however, to recognize that God cares.
We must admit our needs and let others in his family help us. Sometimes we think that struggles are caused by our own sin and foolishness. We think they are they are not God's concern. When we turn to him in repentance, he will bear the weight even of those struggles! Letting God have your worries is active, not passive. Don't submit to circumstances, but to the Lord, who controls all circumstances!
Obey God regardless of present circumstances, and in his good time, either in this life or in the next, he will lift you up!!!
