~ "Bible study..."

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (Ps 27:14)

"I have never met anyone who spent time in daily prayer, and in the study of the Word of God, and was strong in faith, who was ever discouraged for very long. (Billy Graham)."

I had the occasion yesterday to cry tears of laughter to the point that when I climbed into bed last night, I was still laughing.  I helped my daughter (and myself) see the bright side of a depressing situation.  We turned a tragedy into a comedy and found a way to make it an "adventure".  So, what may have been a terrible day, turned out differently because the perspective placed on it was positive!

Our daily lives are filled with disappointments, discouragement and disasters.  It is what we do with them and how we view them that makes them work.  It's looking for that silver lining in the cloud that helps us to realize that God is always with us.  Once you've come to know the Lord, you may become discouraged, but you will not stay there long.  God's promises are there.  They are as real as the ground we walk on.  His patience with us is unending (as I realized this morning before my feet even reached the floor).  He continues to care for us and provide us with what we do not deserve.  He teaches us lessons involving patience, courage, and faith.  He reminds us over and over again what is important and what is not.  He holds that door open for us so we can pass through over and over again.  He is all-knowing and all-loving!

Take the time to continue your dedicated studies of His word.  Find yourself a book that you can understand and let it take you to new depths in what He has written!  Open the door to the knowledge that is contained in the Bible.  Get to know God a little better each day and you will, as Mr. Graham has said, never be discouraged for long!
