~ "another one bites the dust..."

Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 1 Thes 5:1-3)

All this talk about 12/12/12 reminds me of the little man with the sign that reads "the end is near" in all the world destruction movies. In my lifetime, I think I can recall about 10 times that the world was supposed to end! Guess what? We're still here!

I don't worry about 12/12/12 or the Mayan calendar, or global warming or running out of natural resources. Yes, I'm all for recycling - God put us here to be caretakers for it and from what I can see, many aren't doing their fair share.

Everything that we need to sustain life on this planet comes from God. He created it, he keeps it spinning on its axis, he sends the sun and the rain when it's needed. I don't worry about that stuff, nor do I worry about tsunamis and earthquakes and volcanos. When my time comes, it comes. I'm ready!

I don't worry about it because I have faith - faith that God will provide as he always has. I'm more concerned with seeing souls saved - in knowing that my interactions with people are of a positive influence. I want people to know that God has a great gift to give them if they just reach back their hand to his!

Someday, all of this will be gone. Someday, many of us will be in heaven with Jesus; some will not. God has a plan for each one of us - each and every one of us! He has a job for us too - and that is to continue to spread his word throughout the world, to all creatures and to praise him from the depths of our soul!

Tell someone about Jesus today - tell them how much he loves them and that he died for their sins. We can't make them believe in him or accept him - but we can tell them about him!
