O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD. (Ps 117)
I love classical music (especially Mozart). At one time, I had a complete library of CDs of Mr. Mozart's pieces. One of my favorite pieces is "Laudate Dominum", which is the Latin translation of Psalm 117 and Gloria Patri (a doxology used in some Christian liturgy). A few years ago when I attend my youngest daughter's choral concert, I was both entertained and impressed at the musical selections chosen for this event. They lifted their voices and they praised God with "Laudate Dominum" (and probably didn't even realize it). Let me remind you, my daughter attended a public high school! So this was, without a doubt, a surprise!
What I walked away with that night is that God's word IS being spread in places where it is theoretically against the law...and it is being spread in the talented voices of our young people. God loves to hear our voices in prayer; He loves to hear them lifted in songs of praise!
