~ "Justice is served..."
This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing. (Jer 13:10)
Waking up this morning brought with is closure that has taken almost ten years to arrive! An earthly justice has been served on the man responsible for destroying many lives and families. A heavenly justice, I'm sure, was not far behind.
God tells us many times that it is HE we worship, He is who we serve. We are warned that bowing to other gods will surely have an end for us in the fiery lake and remember, He doesn't bargain. His justice is inescapable. His mercy is unlimited.
There is sadness in all of this, though. This man's talents and skills could have been used in service to God, as opposed to the army of the enemy. One of Satan's greatest followers has been defeated. Had Bin Laden chosen the living God, as opposed to the one he chose...well, he didn't. And that is what is sad. Another of God's beloved children has been lost and will suffer eternally for his choice. Remember, God formed each of us (every single one of us from the greatest to the least) in our mother's womb. He knew us before he formed us and He is always with us, no matter what we do, no matter where we are. We cannot hide from Him, nor from His justice.
I take comfort in the knowledge that it is finally over. There are no more excuses. The anger and vengeance exhibited by many (including members of my own family) can no longer be justified. Good has once again triumphed over evil. We remain, "ONE nation under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and JUSTICE for all".
