"There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near." (Luke 21:25-28)

Astronomers (scientists who studies celestial bodies such as planets, stars, and galaxies) have been around for centuries. The Australian Aboriginal people are recognized as being the first astronomers. Galilei Galileo (1564-1642) is probably the most famous one. Today, at 3:40 pm EDT, there will be a total eclipse over water but more specifically, over Easter Island (that's the island where the Moai statues look to heaven).

Is this a sign of Christ's return? Perhaps. Perhaps not. It just may be a sign for us to wake up and know that God means business. No one but God knows when that day is coming but in his word again he gives us direction. In Luke 21 he tells us what to watch for! He tells us to draw near to him and pray without ceasing. Look around at all the destruction of this planet that is caused by man-we were put here to take care of it, not destroy it!

Everyone thinks they have time to learn about God and his word. When the rapture comes, none of us who reaches out on a daily basis to tell the world about Jesus will be left here! Those left behind will have no choice but to figure it out for themselves. That day IS coming, my friends, be it today, tomorrow, next week, next year - but I assure you, it will happen! Now, for those of you rolling your eyes, saying to yourselves "This woman is nuts" - keep reading! God put me here to accomplish something. I believe it is to tell you about him so that you don't end up in the fire when all is said and done! My focus needs to be on Jesus constantly - I can still do my work (you know, that job that pays the bills, puts food on the table and pays the mortgage) and share his word as I go about it. And so can you! The family that gave my daughter a 75 cent tip and a book of Psalms is doing it, The man who came in a few weeks ago and bought a soda and hot dog and gave me the "God's Simple Plan" tract is doing it! People laugh and make jokes about it, sure. They don't get it - they don't know! Those are usually the ones who call themselves Christians but only do it on Sunday morning at church. Be a 24/7 Christian! Give to God what belongs to him and you will share in his glory! The victory is already won! The time for sitting on the fence is over - it's time to take a side and take a stand!
